Five people including two children have died after a crash on the M6.
The crash involving two vehicles, a Skoda and a Toyota, happened on the M6 Northbound past Tebay Services on Tuesday afternoon.
The driver of the Skoda, a man from Cambridgeshire, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man, a woman and two children from Glasgow in the Toyota were also pronounced dead at the scene.
A third child in the Toyota was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle with serious injuries.
Police were called to the incident at 4.04pm on Tuesday.
A police spokesperson said the families of the people involved were being supported by specially trained officers.
The M6 Northbound was closed for several hours between Junction 36 at Kirkby Lonsdale and Junction 39 following the crash.
It reopened in the early hours of Wednesday.
