Lancaster woman lands role in TV soap

A popular local singer and actress has landed a role in TV soap Hollyoaks.

Amy Jo Clough will make her debut on the hit series tonight on Channel 4 at 6.30pm.

Amy, from Bolton-le-Sands, has been singing professionally since the age of 11.

The 22-year-old has appeared regularly in local shows and festivals including at the Grand Theatre in Lancaster and also sang at Morecambe Carnival.

She has supported big names such as Scouting for Girls, Rick Astley, Heaven 17, Alexander O’Neal, Toploader, Pixie Lott, Little Mix and The Vamps, performed at Blackpool Illuminations and toured with chart-topping band The Christians.

Amy writes and performs her own songs and has released several singles and EPs.
