A Morecambe town centre pub which went up for sale earlier this year will reopen with a new couple at the helm, its owners have confirmed.
The new tenants in charge at the Palatine, which closed last month, will be announced soon - Lancaster Brewery has told Beyond Radio.
The pub went on the market earlier this year but Phil Simpson, director of Lancaster Brewery, said a potential sale is being affected by the wait for the much-anticipated Eden Project attraction in Morecambe.
"After a few months of marketing the Palatine for a freehold sale and quite a few viewings, we realised that until the Eden Project is fully sorted and confirmed we wouldn’t be able to sell the venue for anything like the price it’s worth," said Mr Simpson.
"I do get the feeling that the entire economic future of Morecambe is currently riding on the confirmation of one solitary project!
"Anyway as a result of the current limbo in Morecambe, we’ve taken the opportunity to spend four weeks refurbishing the place (flooring, toilets, bar area, roof, windows etc) and we are hoping to announce new tenants in the next few days.
"The tenants we have in mind will be new to Morecambe, but are a couple (a chef and a front of house person) who will be offering excellent food and top quality drink to our Palatine customers."
The previous licensee, Bru Wood, left the Palatine in September after seven years in charge, following the decision to put the building up for sale.
There was a huge amount of well-wishes for Mr Wood from customers of 'The Pally' when he departed the pub.

Speaking to Beyond Radio this week, Mr Wood said he was "enjoying life not running a pub" and wished the new tenants all the best.
Lancaster Brewery acquired and refurbished the pub at 1 The Crescent, on the corner of Queen Street and Marine Road, in 2008.
The brewery is based at Lancaster Leisure Park. The company also owns The Sun Hotel in Lancaster city centre, The Duke of Edinburgh at Barrow, The Mill at Ulverston and The Tite & Locke at Lancaster Railway Station.
The long-planned £100m Eden Project attraction on Morecambe Promenade has a targeted opening date of 2028.
Si Bellamy, chief transformation officer at Eden, told Beyond Radio earlier this month, that a full programme of work on site is due to be announced "towards the middle to the end of Autumn" following talks with the government, who have pledged £50m towards the scheme.
