Lancaster Comedy Festival

Highlights of the festival include Twitter sensation Sooz Kempner, Ali Brice, Sam Serrano, Sally-Anne Fellows, One Man Arnie and Karl Porter.

The festival is at five venues across the city including The Storey, The Borough, The Jailor’s Barrel, The Gregson Centre and Kanteena. There are 34 shows in total, most of which are free entry, and a couple are £5 to get in.

Wray Scarecrow Festival & Fair

The popular event in the village near Lancaster runs right into the Spring Bank Holiday weekend, ending on Monday May 6, when the annual Fair will take place. This year’s theme is sci-fi.

There’ll be traditional maypole dancing, a fell race, a giant scarecrow parade with the Batala samba drummers, Samba Espirito, the Beyond Radio roadshow, and of course, lots and lots of scarecrows!
