Morecambe defender sweeps board at End of Season Awards

Defender Joel Senior swept the board at Morecambe FC’s End of Season Awards.

The 24-year-old won four awards on the night, including Beyond Radio’s Shrimps Live Player of the Season, walking away with The Adam Stutchbury Memorial Trophy.

The award was one of four the defender picked up on the night, at the event in the Local Choice Suite at the Mazuma Mobile Stadium.

Watch Beyond Radio’s Dave Salmon present Joel with his trophy:

He was also named Players’ Player of the Season, Fans’ Player of the Season, and Sardines’ Player of the Season, chosen by regular away supporters.

Senior has racked up 50 appearances in a stellar first season in a Morecambe shirt, with numerous eye-catching displays throughout the campaign, playing predominantly as an attack minded right back, but also playing a number of matches at left back.

He memorably scored a dramatic late winning goal against Sutton United in League Two in October.
